SMALLMOUTH & WINE LODGING PACKAGE
Virginia's Finest Exports, All in One Convenient Package
Virginia is blessed with a great volume of fantastic smallmouth fishing, scenery, and wine. Why not plan your fishing trip around all three?
Come spend two days and two nights at the cabins at Fariss Farms and Iron Heart Winery in beautiful Allisonia, Virginia--the heart of the New River Valley. Each day, we'll float and fish the New River, where you'll learn techniques for targeting smallmouth bass on the fly in one of the country's most scenic and bountiful smallmouth rivers. Enjoy shore lunches each day, and bring along a bottle of wine from Iron Heart Winery, which was recently voted the top winery in western Virginia. In the afternoon, enjoy a complimentary wine tasting, and take advantage of a welcome package courtesy of Matt Reilly Fly Fishing and Iron Heart Winery.
In the evenings, return to your comfortable cabin at Fariss Farms and spend the evening by a crackling fire, conversing on the porch, or wade fishing a major tributary to the New River that borders the property.
Float trips are conducted out of a 15-foot NRS Expedition raft outfitted with an NRS fishing frame, and generally cover between five and 10 miles of river to give clients access to as many fish as possible in a given day. If you want to comfortably cover miles of river while casting streamers and topwater bugs to the fightingest fish in fresh water, this is the trip for you. This package can accommodate up to 8 people, and is ideal for couple's weekends, corporate retreats, bachelor(ette) parties, and other large groups. Click HERE to get a glimpse of the action.
